In this document we will cover how to assign phone numbers to your Microsoft Teams users.
When activating phone numbers for texting, Microsoft temporarily disconnects the numbers and initiates a re-sync with the Microsoft Tenant via Operator Connect. The update process may take a few minutes as the phone numbers are refreshed within the tenant. After the numbers are restored in the Teams environment, simply reassign them to your users or resource accounts.

Navigate to the Microsoft Teams admin center and click on Manage users.
Select the user you’d like to assign the phone number to
Under General Information click Edit
Operator Connect
<aside> ✅ Note: Operator Connect requires Teams Phone Standard or E5 license applied to the user. If you have Microsoft Teams Domestic Calling Plan or Business Voice license applied make sure to remove it from the user at the time of activation.
To purchase the license navigate to your Organization Portal and click on Marketplace.
