Voicemail is a powerful Clerk add-on for Slack that allows you to receive an audio recording and a speech-to-text transcription of the recording right in your Slack channel. To configure voicemail navigate to the Clerk Dashboard.
Click on the ⚙️ Settings
Click on ✉️ Voicemail
Select your Phone Number.
Enable Voicemail
You have two options for a Clerk voicemail greeting.
Text to Say: Just type your text and AI "robovoice" will say the greeting for you.
Audio File: Upload a voice greeting (.mp3, .wav)
Note: The supplied audio greeting URL must be a publicly shared URL.
Due to limitations of Slack the file has to be shared on an outside service. Some examples include Google Drive or Dropbox (see below).
Voicemail message will appear right inside of your slack channel as follows:
Dropbox is a great file sharing service and works great for hosting your audio greeting. To upload the greeting navigate to https://dropbox.com
Right click on the file and select Share
Note: The URL supplied by Dropbox is actually not the direct link and needs to be substituted. To have a direct link to the file substitute "www.dropbox.com" for "dl.dropboxusercontent.com"
Your final URL that you post to Clerk is the following:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/kl1es9osojgor0i/voicemail.wav
