What is branded calling and why does it matter?
Branded calls build trust before the call is even answered, helping your business stand out and connect more effectively.
Branded calling allows your outgoing business calls to display your organization’s name, and in some cases your logo, on the recipient’s caller ID (when supported by their carrier and device).
If Clerk Chat is providing Voice services for your number(s), we can help facilitate the branded caller ID setup process. If you use an external provider, branded calling may need to be managed directly through them.

Why might my calls show up as “spam likely”
Carriers use automated systems to flag calling behavior that seems suspicious or unwanted. Your number may be flagged as spam if:
you make repeated calls (that go unanswered) from the same number in a short period
the number is recycled and has been previously flagged
you haven’t completed proper registration (ie CNAM or branded calling setup)
you’re conducting high-volume cold outreach without recipient engagement
A note on recycled numbers
Numbers that were previously owned, and especially those already flagged, can retain a negative reputation with carriers such as AT&T, even after being fully registered. Clerk Chat cannot override existing carrier flags.
Best practices to avoid call flagging
register your numbers with branded caller ID or CNAM if eligible
avoid making repeated calls to the same recipient in a short window
rotate numbers for high-volume outbound use cases
start with clean, new numbers when possible for important workflows
What if my number is already marked as spam?
work with your provider (or Clerk Chat, if we’re your Voice carrier) to submit a spam flag removal request
consider switching to a new number if the current one continues to be flagged
use a rotation strategy for numbers to spread volume
monitor performance to catch flags early
