Variables

Using variables

When writing a message, whether it’s a 1:1, group, or campaign message, you can include a variable to personalize your text.

A variable automatically pulls specific details (called properties) from a contact’s card, such as their name, company, birthday, or other stored fields.

This allows you to send personalized messages at scale, without manually editing each one.

Example

If you write:

Hi {{name}}, thanks for choosing {{company}}! We hope you enjoyed your visit.

And your contact’s details are:

  • Name: Matthew

  • Company: Craft Financial

Your message will send as:

Hi Matthew, thanks for choosing Craft Financial! We hope you enjoyed your visit.

Where you can use variables

You can add variables when composing:

  • Direct messages (1:1)

  • Group messages (10 contacts or fewer)

  • Campaigns

You can also include variables in your message templates for quick reuse and consistency.
